Congratulations to this high caliber athlete for her first and successful top 5  finish at the Canadian Nationals Women’s Physique category.  This is excellent for her first attendance at such a prestigious event.  The highest in Canada that earns the class winners their pro cards. 

Lena Night show Routine

     I just finished having the pleasure of working with Lena as her trainer/coach as she prepared for this show! I was surprised when Lena approached me to take on this role, but I eagerly accepted the challenge.  Her previous trainer and excellent bodybuilder Kristen  McCarthy, had some personal business to attend to and couldn’t help so much this show,  so I had a good pair of shoes to fill , as Kristen had done a fantastic job with Lena over their time!  I’m confident in my abilities,  but hadn’t trained clients for shows a bit of time. (see my success stories with some of the athletes I’ve worked with here on this blog).  Same thing, I had personal life to attend to over the last few years.  Well, it was like I never left!  I loved the process of prepping a client for show, especially when they are as dedicated, disciplined, and gifted as Lena is!  I like to work with my athletes as a team.  We are in this together, and the goal is to be the best!  Her transformation over 20 weeks was amazing, and she had clearly packed on some dense muscle! Combined with her lines and beautiful posing and stage presentation, Lena is surely a Winner yet to come! Had so much fun here! Promoter WOS put on this event on the Venice Beach boardwalk. You will know it as the infamous ‘Muscle Beach!’ I met the promoters, Kristel and Jake Wood! So cool and nice. If I understand correctly they have offered their ability to save women’s bodybuilding in the IFBB by putting up the money to do so, as well as offering good prize money to the athletes! The Ms Olympia was recently discontinued by the IFBB.This event comprised of ‘the muscle mansion’ girls, created an atmosphere of camaradie amoung us women.

This event comprised of ‘the muscle mansion’ girls, created an atmosphere of camaradie amoung us women. Something lacking amoungst the bodybuilding women in the past. The girls, Alina Popa, Isabella Turell, Hella Trevino and Margie Martin, and the infamous Lenda Murray! All these women incredible bodybuilders! I went with my friend and IFBB pro Michelle Brent. Lovely that we were invited to join the hardcore training party in the pit while there! She joined the main girls of event enthusiastically, and Lenda Murry (8 X Ms O, mentor, WOS promoter, and great ambassador for the sport), summoned me to join as well. OMG So flattered to have Lenda’s approval!! But I wanted to support as an IFBB pro team mate and let the gals enjoy their spotlight. I totally enjoyed watchng! I also met Brian, WOS, their bro and marketer, great vibe, and was wonderful meeting onlookers and fans of all of us girls.

The Peurto Rico ifbb pro show is this weekend May 28, 2016, AND also put on by WOS! 2 of the ladies Michelle and Isabelle are competing.  Whats so especially impressive about Michelle,  is not only her positive attitude in the world of bodybuildng, but that she is 58 years old, and is STILL competing! Not to mention with a set of biceps many would die for!  And in regards to Isabelle,  is her young incredible physique, clearly an up and coming bodybuilding star!

In regards to pro bodybuilding as a whole, Hopefully there will be more such events with many different pro athletes being showcased in addition to the above mentioned, with WOS! It helps involve the general public and athletes together.  It would be a nice idea if all the pros were informed and kept in the loop at the same time regarding what goes on overall in this sport. A monthly newslettter, meetings, etc.  knowledge creates Power. I think it would help.

Post Show Celebration!

-MICHELLE BRENT: (IFBB Pro Bodybuilder & Friend- www.Michelle’smagicmoves.com legendary bodybuilder & friend!) She helped Me thru out this show so much! There’s probably not enough or the right words to express the thanks I have regarding the dynamic that occurred between us, BUT, she has turned out to be my mentor, one of my best friends, and a joy in my life! She unconditionally helped and supported Me preparing for my last show. Her experience, time and expertise re training, posing, stage presence, etc, etc.,  was given so unconditionally,  and her confidence in Me was/is beyond invaluable! I swear i would never have been able to do this show even if not for her help! Plus She and Blondie came with me to my show and we had the best time!! Having them by my side is such a positive and great memory in my life Ill never forget! Support from people who care goes so far!

 -BLONDIE BENNETT: (Friend): Blondie has been a consistent friend and valued adviser in many areas of my life which flowed over into my competition training! Her willpower ‘just because she can’,  I say, inspires and motivates Me! We feed off of each other and always make the most out of life! Oh and she took some of the great images posted here! 

-LENA VAJAKAS:  (Friend & great up and coming Physique Competitor) Another great woman in my life and friend who was a huge support system! Wasn’t a moment when I felt I MIGHT not be able to make one more rep or have one less bite of food, etc.,  that she wasn’t there like the angel in my ear saying ‘YOU CAN DO IT, SNAP OUT OF IT!’  It even felt like she was slapping the devil out of my other ear as he was trying to talk me into failure!  And as annoying as this must have been after a few times, MAYBE more teehee, she Never made me feel as such!

-LENDA MURRAY: (Bodybuilding Ms Olympia! ) For providing Me the experience to meet her and give me some insight and again invaluable advice, tips, feedback and stage information. To get this from one of the greatest Olympians of our time some would die for! Life is good!

These great women were with me every step of the way as I prepped for My show! Support is an invaluable asset and gift! I am grateful!

2015 Competition By Lou Ferrigno!

NOTE TO SELF

 I participated in Lou Ferrigno’s Show, www.Ferrignolegacy.com, Nov 20, 2015 in Palm Desert, California, USA!  He was my generations favorite muscle monster, and a legendary bodybuilder as most know.  

On the road

I did IFBB Pro Women’s Physique in a lineup of 21 women and all good caliber athletes! I did not get in the top placings, but I displayed an improved physique and presentation from the two previous shows! I’m very happy with this experience! I was the most comfortable on the stage I’ve been in a very long time! Believe it or not, I battle with stage fright! Go figure!!  It was amazing and I always learn something new!  There were a couple things I could rant about, but I’ll choose to highlight the positive aspects of this event!

The other competitors were amazing. No ‘cattiness’  among us gals, and guys and girls, everyone got along and was helpful to each other!  Included in this is the angel project put on by fellow physique competitor Tycie Coppett all in the spirit of good will among st us girls. So she chooses a ‘sister’ to exchange a gift with. The result is a positive connection with a fellow competitor! How awesome! This sport needs this type of positive humane energy! And then speaking of positive,  I received great feedback and advice from some of the best in the sport! ie. Michelle Brent, Lenda Murray, Cathy lefrancious, etc.  On top of this, an amazing support system! What a difference that makes! Michelle Brent, IFBB Pro for many years, was my guide, mentor & friend thru out this show! Unbelievable woman!  Then my friends, (Michelle, Bill, Blondie, etc. helped me prep and have the best post celebration), Sponsors and Fans! NEXT BLOG WILL BE ALL ABOUT THIS!

But WOW! Im very blessed.  I always say its the process I love so much about training for a show!  The faith people put in me helps drive me, and me doing what it takes to change my body and prepare for stage, forces me to take care of myself and to make as perfect as i can my being from inside out and from the tip of the ends of my hair strands to the tips of my toes! Needless to say, I trained My Ass off! Rain or shine, snow or sleet, day or night,  having to skip out on the parties and the poutine!   Time management becomes essential. I had to get it done! I did my best, and I’m determined to do better yet! All For the Love of The Sport!
